Veolia Vatten has signed a three-year contract with Stockholm Vatten for sludge handling. The agreement is an environmentally sustainable and overall commitment meaning that Veolia Vatten will spread REVAQ certified sludge from Brommaverket on agricultural land.
Veolia Vatten's mission includes transportation from Brommaverket, distribution and quality control of the approximately 20 000 tonnes REVAQ certified sludge produced annually in Brommaverket outside Stockholm. The sludge will be spread on agricultural land to neighboring farmers. Quality monitoring includes sampling and monitoring of the earth so that soil quality is maintained guaranteed.

Veolia Vatten follows recommendation from LRF and spreads only REVAQ certified sludge. A specialized management tools is used to ensure full traceability of the sludge through the whole chain from plant to spread at the local farmer.
A safe sludge management was required by the Stockholm Vatten as the plant is near a residential area and local residents may not be disturbed or adversely affected. This includes the removal of sludge must be done with very high security.
